My Story

reeds oboe modern classical baroque oboe d'amore

After years of working as a modern oboist, Esther decided to broaden her sound world with the baroque oboe.

The switch required a different technique: less tension, more attention to articulation, and a closer connection with the breath. In its warm, slightly rough sound, she found a direct connection with the music and its historical context.

With a refined, singing tone, Esther captivates audiences through interpretations that balance scholarly insight with emotional immediacy.

Whether in intimate chamber settings or orchestral roles, Esther reveals the baroque oboe’s unique capacity for drama, tenderness, and brilliance.
